Pixata Archives - The Name Change
In December 2000, we changed the name of our company to Pixata Limited. We decided to change the
design of our web site at the same time. This page shows some of the designs that were suggested.
- Interim Idea
- This one was basically the old Flying Ferret main page with a Pixata logo added. We had some very
positive feedback about it, but decided to go for something a little more eye-catching.
- Halfway There
- This one is very clearly a middle idea between the old "Put your business on the web"
design above and the eventual Pixata design. The dynamic text on this page causes the bottom bar to
bounce up and down, but due to the fact that we didn't take this design into production, we never developed it further.
- The Shell Version
- The final decision was a close battle between a few very similar designs. This was a favourite, just
losing out as the shell really has nothing to do with web design. We just liked
it as an example of the beauty of design in the world around us (which is also the reason for the sea
horses and shell on the old e-commerce banner).
- A Bit Radical
- We liked this one a lot, but felt it was too radical for our front page. We didn't want to put
people off before they had even seen who we were !!
- Space-Age
- Never a serious contender, just experiments with ideas.
